Who would’ve known…

“But perhaps you hate a thing and it is good for you; and perhaps you love a thing and it is bad for you. And Allah Knows, while you know not. (Al-Baqarah: 216)”

Hi, it’s been a while. As usual, I have so many things to write and so many things to tell all of you, but I have a lot on my plate. But this… I need to talk about this. NOW.

When you’ve hit rock bottom, the only way is up. I thought I’m gonna hate this place forever. I thought I’m gonna lock myself in my room and disappear quietly when the time comes. Again, I’m wrong. Life always has its way to prove me wrong.  Continue reading “Who would’ve known…”

Spendthrift no more

Online shops are great, fast and easy. We don’t have to physically be in the store to buy something, it can easily be done at our fingertips.

But let’s face it, it’s bad for your finances. Especially to the kind of people who spend without thinking of their bank account balance (me). Swipe, swipe, swipe. or add to cart, add to cart, add to cart, pay. And once they log in to their online banking account to check their account balance, they freak out and wonder where the money has gone to or if someone actually hacked into their account and used it (me again).

Reverse Psychology

“2018: the year I’ll love myself more & treat myself better.

  • more healthy food
  • establish a regular sleeping pattern (sleep early, wake up early 😌)
  • work out more 💪🏻

What you just read was supposed to be my new year’s resolutions. I even had it pinned on my Twitter account. January has only 2 days left & so far, I’ve done totally the opposite.  Continue reading “Reverse Psychology”

Social Media Detox

I’m on a three-month semester break and for the past two weeks, I’ve been spending it unhealthily by refreshing my social media almost every 5 minutes.

The thing is, I only followed around 200 people on Instagram and Twitter but I keep on refreshing the timeline even though I know nothing new is going to pop out! It became a habit. I mean, 200 is not even a big number and who updates their social media every minute, right? Continue reading “Social Media Detox”

Here’s a little (& unimportant) update from yours truly, Adriana:

It’s been quite a while since I write something here. Well, something happened and it took me 4 months to be okay again, but it is safe to say that I’ve accepted the test given and I’ve picked myself up from where I left. I still go through some rough nights, crying myself to sleep, wishing everything went according to how I planned it to be, and I still have no clue what the future holds. As of now, everything is a blur. I couldn’t see the bigger picture yet, but that’s okay. For Allah is the best of planners and I believe in Him.

Some of you might be wondering why am I still in Malaysia. Am I not supposed to be in the UK by now? Exploring the cities, posting nice pictures wearing fab 2 – 3 layers of outfits. Oh, you have no idea how much I want to do all of that. I’ve been waiting for that since two years ago, when I received my scholarship. Continue reading “Blur”

A tourist at my own place

Ask any Sabahans if they have ever been to most of the tourist attractions you can find in Sabah, chances are, more than 50% will say no. I’m definitely in the “no” team.

“Diana, tau tak mana nak beli sotong gula?”, asked a friend of mine.

“Sotong what?”

“Sotong gula”

“Never heard of it.”

Yep. Definitely a “no” team. I was told by my friend from Semenanjung that Continue reading “A tourist at my own place”

Drama Queen

If you read my last post then you should know that I went to see a specialist because I have lumps on my right underarm and above my right breast. Alhamdulillah the result of the ultrasound showed the lump on my right breast had shrunk. However, the doctor said I still have to go for a surgery to remove the lump on my underarm because it might multiply or get bigger. The surgery was supposed to be today but…

I found a lump on my right underarm

On the 13th May, I discovered a painful lump on my right underarm. The pain went away after some time but the lump never did. Sometimes it’s painful when I touch it, sometimes it’s not. It’s small, about the size of a pea.

At first, I was reluctant to tell my parents about it because I didn’t want them to worry unnecessarily and I didn’t want to make a fuss over a small lump. It might not even be that serious. But it has been almost 2 months now and the lump is still there Continue reading “I found a lump on my right underarm”
